In Quiz Bowl, two teams play against each other to answer questions about a wide variety of subjects, including history, geography, science, art, music, literature, sports, mythology, mathematics, current events, and pop culture. Four students play at a time for each team in Quiz Bowl, as they attempt to buzz in and answer questions correctly before the opposing team.
Quiz Bowl is a fun activity that can bring about tremendous personal and academic growth in students. Quiz Bowl helps students develop skills related to self-confidence, teamwork, work ethic, commitment, reliability, cooperation, and leadership, while also promoting camaraderie and academic rigor. Quiz Bowl looks good on college resumes, and it can provide students with lasting friendships and relationships, an added sense of community, and tremendous memories and experiences. Many students also have the opportunity to continue playing Quiz Bowl in college, as many colleges and universities, including the University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Rice, offer Quiz Bowl.
